Both sizes are made using handcrafted pine wood frames, featuring mitered corner joints which are far superior to the shoddy construction of the homemade style sets. The wooden legs are retractable and are held in place by robust 3/8 in galvanized steel bolts with wing nuts. Best of all, the set weighs only 38 pounds without sacrificing gameplay. Compare that to the traditional homemade style sets that weigh in at a backbreaking 60+ pounds! While the games come with a traditional varnished wood surface, they can easily be painted or customized with NFL or NCAA decals. "I got this to make custom boards. They were delivered quicker then I thought. They are heavy and good quality. If you are thinking about customizing yourself, I would definitely pick these! But be mindful, the box is heavy because it has everything in it! When I opened it, I saw that the company packed with extra precautions, they had foam corners. My only issue is that those thin foams were not enough and two of the corners were damaged. It was not serious enough for me to send back, plus I didn’t have time because I needed to start customizing it. So I think thicker foams like when you buy electronics will be better. I just used paintable wood glue to secure one corner and to even out dents in the other ones. But I don’t think it’s a company fault. FedEx wasn’t that gentle when they delivered even seeing cameras."
